Dry Type Transformers

Our Dry Type transformer partners bring over 60 years of combined manufacturing experience to the table. Transformer Broker has the ability to select from numerous Worldwide manufacturers committed to the highest qualities and standards.

Our manufacturers can build from 1VA up to 10MVA in power requirements. This is a large power range comprised of standard sizes for distribution applications as well as any custom size needed. The voltage range starts at 1V and ends at 34,500V for single or three phase designs. Custom frequencies can be developed, but most application are designed around, 50Hz, 60Hz and 400Hz.

Core designs can be developed using a C-Cores, Silicon Strip Steel or an E&I laminations in various configurations providing you with a superior product design. Windings are available in Copper or Aluminum with varying degrees of insulation options.

Customization features such as Pulse, K-Factor, Shielded, Bus Bar Configuration, and size restrictions are achievable to meet specific applications. Leading industry standards are met when developing and then building our transformers. Standards such as ANSI, DOE, IEEE, NEMA and UL are a few that come to mind.

General Purpose Transformers with Standardizes Power Factors for 600V Class and Medium Voltage.

Autotransformer is a single winding transformer where portions of the winding act as the primary voltage and secondary voltage. Applications can be staring an induction motor or to regulate voltage.

Drive Isolation Transformer are designed to prevent overheating from Harmonics, increase ground fault tolerance or minimize inverter switching noise.

Ferro resonance Transformer provide line regulation, reduced harmonics or can limit current.

Filament Transformer provide heat current to electron tubes.

Furnace Transformer take input voltage and reduce it to a secondary voltage needed to operate a furnace. Most furnace transformers have multiple secondary taps for voltage selections.

Grounding Transformer provide a grounding source to Delta connection or an ungrounded Wye connection.

High Current or Current Transformer are transformers that produce a secondary current proportional to the primary current.

High Frequency Transformer as the name implies operate at a higher frequency than standard transformers operating at 50 or 60Hz. HFT’s can operate upwards of 1MHz.

Metering Transformer or Instrument Transformers are used were high current can’t be measured by standard equipment and the metering transformer reduces the current to a level for measuring.

Mining Power / Low Profile Transformers are designed lower in height for underground mining requirements.

Plate Transformer provide high voltage to tube plates.

Printed Circuit Board (PCB) transformer can step-up or step-down voltage or be used as a Potential transformer.

Rectifier Transformer are used in DC Voltage applications.

Scott -T Transformer are developed as two single-phase transformers connected to a three -phase application to produce two phase output.

Toroidal Transformer are wound on toroidal cores to provide shorter coils, reduction in resistive losses and improving overall efficiency.
